Description

The work includes the removal and disposal of existing wood windows having asbestos material and lead containing paint; the removal of vinyl flooring and sub-flooring in areas specified in the contract documents; the removal of lead-containing paint on the front entrance canopy, supports, rails, benches, risers, and treads. The provisions of new work includes new aluminum windows, plywood subfloor, vinyl tile, window treatments, metal louvers, masonry infill, painting, repair of existing steam valves, reinsulation of steam piping and incidental related work. This solicitation will be issued unrestricted and is subject to the Hub Zone Evaluation Preference contained in FAR 52.219-4. Estimated cost range: $100,000 to $500,000. NAICS 235510, Carpentry and Floor Contractors. The Invitation For Bid (IFB) package will be available on the Internet. The address for downloading this solicitation from the Internet is www.esol.navfac.navy.mil. Downloading from the Internet is free of charge. All prospective offerors should register on the NAVFAC Electronic Internet Website (www.esol.navfac.navy.mil) for this project by clicking on the entrance button to access and then creat an account. You may view the site without an account, but you will not be able to register for a solicitation unless you establish an account. Enter your company's information and then click on "Submit" and follow the remaining instructions. When the IFB package becomes available, you company will receive an e-mail notification indicating you may download the IFB package. The "Issue Date" and "Bid/Due Date" stated in this notice are approximate dates. An Official Planholders List will be maintained on-line and can be printed from the web site. The Planholders list will not be faxed. Recording companies and blueprint companies are also required to register. Notification of any changes to this solicitation (Amendments) shall be made only on the Internet. Per the Debt Collection Improvement Act of 1996, the Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFAR) has been amended to require all contractrors to register in the Department of Defense (DOD) Central Contractor Registration (CCR) Database. Be advised, for solicitations issued after May 31, 1998, failure to register in the CCR may render an offeror ineligible for award of DOD contracts.
