Description

The purpose of this sources sought synopsis is to identify biometrics systems that will support the use of biometrics to control access to an enterprise web portal and its associated dynamic database. The biometrics system should be an open design to support integration with common web server configurations and support use of multiple biometrics service provider software and devices. The biometrics system integration with Windows 2000 user accounts based on Windows 2000 Active Directory security model is preferred. The system shall protect biometric information while at rest or on the move through the use of FIPS 140-1 certified encryption modules. The system's encryption modules must be able to migrate to FIPS 140-2 compliance. This sources sought synopsis is for market research ONLY. NO solicitation exists at this time. Respondents to this synopsis will NOT be reimbursed for preparation costs incurred for the product information/submission to the Government. The Government does not have any technical specifications for this item. All submissions shall be submitted electronically (Microsoft Word 97 or later, or Adobe PDF) not later than August 3, 2001 to: sources@dodbfc.army.mil in the following format. Product information shall be limited to a maximum of 5 pages single sided. 1) Vendor Name 2) Product Name 3) Brief Functional Description: a) Description of the data flow of the authentication process b) Description of how the user information is stored and updated c) Description of the user enrollment process 4) Biometrics Modalities Supported (examples: fingerprint, iris, face, etc.) 5) Indicate, as appropriate, product conformance to any recognized industry, federal or international standards; as a minimum address the items listed below.
