Description

The Corporation for National Service plans to support up to 12 National Service Fellowships beginning in September of 2001 and ending in June 2002. The Fellowships will be in the form of a contract made directly to individuals. Both full-time (40 hours or more per week) and part-time (at least 20 hours per week) may be awarded. Full-time award recipients will receive a total of $26,500, with payments of $2,650 per month over a nine-month period and a final completion award of $2,650. Part-time award recipients may receive an optional final completion award of $2,650. Employees of the Corporation for National Service are eligible for this Fellowship, but will not receive a monetary award. Potential Fellows must submit a proposal on a topic they plan to address related to the Corporation's business and programs or to the service field and specify the outcomes that will result from their efforts. The Request for Proposal will include suggested topics of interest to the Corporation. Along with producing the outcomes specified in their proposals, Fellows will serve on a team of Fellowship award recipients to assess progress and consider synergies among projects. Attendance at three Fellowship events (orientation, mid-course event, and final meeting) is mandatory. At least two of these events will be held in Washington, DC. The expenses for attending these meetings will be covered by the Corporation for National Service. Fellowship applicants must be citizens or permanent resident aliens of the United States.
