Description

Eglin AFB FL has a requirement to Replace Kitchen Cabinets in Plew Residential Park Housing. THIS IS A "TRADE-OFF" (PERFORMANCE PRICE TRADE-OFF) ACQUISITION. Award will be made based upon the "Best Value" to the Government in accordance with FAR 15.101. The Government reserves the right to award a contract to other than the lowest proposed price. This project includes furnishing all plant, labor, equipment and materials and performing all operations in connection with Replacing Kitchen Cabinets in Plew Residential Park Housing, Eglin AFB FL. In general, the work will consist of furnishing all materials and equipment to install new kitchen wall and base cabinets with plastic laminate countertops; paint existing kitchen walls and ceilings; replacing kitchen sink and associated piping and trim; installing new range hood and ductwork; installing new lighting fixtures, necessary wiring and new wiring devices. The above general description of work does not in any way limit the responsibility of the contractor to perform all work and furnish all labor, materials, and equipment complete in accordance with the plans and specifications. This project includes the Base Bid plus 6 Additives. Total project units = 386. The Base Bid consists of 248 units. Additive No. 1 includes 16 additional units. Additive No. 2 includes 12 additional units. Additive No. 3 includes 8 remaining units. Additive No. 4 includes 20 units. Additive No. 5 includes 26 units and Additive No. 6 includes 56 units. The work is located at Eglin AFB FL. Proposal due date of 26 Feb 2001 IS ONLY AN ESTIMATED DATE. Estimated dollar range is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. Performance period is 465 calendar days for the Base Bid plus 7 calendar days for each 4 additional housing units included in the contract. A separate contract to upgrade bathrooms in these units will be taking place during this contract, within the same units. The contractor shall coordinate his work with the contracting officer and other contractors working in these units. All responsible sources may submit a proposal, which shall be considered by the agency. This is a paperless acquisition. Paper copies of the solicitation will not be issued but the Request for Proposal will be available on the Federal Government's Electronic Posting System (www.eps.gov). No response to this notice is necessary, and no Source List will be maintained. See Note
