Description

Description: Eglin AFB FL, has a requirement to Repair Base Fitness Center, Building 810, Eglin AFB, FL. This project is to provide and install air conditioning systems for the two (2) gymnasiums in the fitness center. It will include electrical upgrades to accommodate the new cooling load, a boiler upgrade, new chillers, new air handlers, new ductwork and piping, insulation, HVAC controls, etc. It will also include the additions to the building to house the new air handlers and electrical gear. In addition the work will include replacement of some of the exterior windows, waterproofing, insulation, and painting. "THIS IS A TRADE OFF" (PERFORMANCE PRICE TRADE-OFF) ACQUISITION. Award will be made based upon "Best Value" to the Government in accordance with FAR 15.101. The Government reserves the right to award a contract to other than the lowest proposed price. All responsible sources may submit a proposal, which shall be considered by the Agency. The above general description of work does not in any way limit the responsibility of the contractor to perform all work and furnish all plant, labor, equipment, and materials complete in accordance with the plans and specifications. The Proposal due date of 15 MAR 01 IS, AN ESTIMATED DATE. The estimated dollar range is between $500,000.00 and $1,000,000.00. The bid acceptance period is 60 calendar days. Performance period is 180 calendar days. No response to this notice is necessary and no source list shall be maintained. PAPER COPIES OF THIS SOLICITATION WILL NOT BE ISSUED, BUT THE REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL (RFP) WILL BE AVAILABLE ON THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT'S ELECTRONIC POSTING SYSTEM (www.eps.gov.). See Note 26
