Description
The AOC will be sponsoring a conference addressing Space/Information Operations on November 8-9, 2000 at Peterson Air Force Base, Colorado Springs, Colorado. The conference will be at the SECRET, U.S. Only classification level. The theme of the conference will be "Aerospace Integration for the 21st Century: Demonstrating Space as a Force Multiplier." The keynote speaker will be Lt Gen Roger DeKok, USAF, Vice Commander, Air Force Space Command (AFSPC). There will be four sessions. Session I will cover Future Aerospace Requirements. The session chairman and featured speaker will be Brig Gen Mike Hamel, USAF, Director of Requirements, AFSPC, who will address "AFSPC Requirements for Aerospace Integration." Other topics will include: "Air Force TENCAP Vision for the Future" by Col "Lucky" Rivers, USAF, Space Warfare Center; "National Imagery and Mapping Agency/National Reconnaissance Office Requirements for Aerospace Integration" by Dr. Robert Zitz, Director, NIMA Initiatives Group; and "Space Control Requirements and Reflections on Space Wargames" by Col Kathy Roberts, Chief, Space Control Requirements, AFSPC. Session II will cover Innovations in Aerospace Operations and will be chaired by Brig Gen Doug Richardson, USAF, Commander, SWC who will address "Space Warfare Center at the Center of Aerospace Integration." Other topics include: "TENCAP Project Gateway" by Col Mike O'Shea, Program Director, Special Applications Office, Space and Missile Systems Center; "Protecting Space Weapon Systems" by Lt Col French Marceau, Director, Space Electronic Warfare Team, SWC; "Transforming Space Concepts into Aerospace Solutions for the Warfighter" by Col Ron Oholendt, Commander, Air Force Space Battlelab; and "Where the Rubber Meets the Road-the Air Integration Center" by Lt Col Steve Hana, Det 1, SWC, Nellis AFB. Session III will focus on Future Technologies and will be chaired by Brig Gen Paul Nielsen, USAF, Commander, Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL), Wright-Patterson AFB, who will address "Assuring Aerospace Integration Superiority in the 21st Century." Other topics include: "TechSat 21" by AFRL Space Technology Directorate; "Self Protection ECM for Space-Based Assets" by AFRL Sensors Directorate; and "Hyperspectral Roadmap and JEFX 2000 Results" by Col William Gardner, Director, Modernization Planning, SMC. The final session will cover Future Acquisition Programs and will be chaired Brig Gen Russell Arnarde, USAF, Director of Plans and Programs, AFSPC addressing "Air Force Space Modernization Planning." Other topics include: "Space-Based Electro-Optical Network Program" by Col Ed Alexander, Program Director, Advanced Projects Systems, SMC; "GMSP, A True Aerospace Integration Weapon System of the Future" by Col Kurt Hackmeir, Program Director, Global Multi-Mission Systems, SMC; "System of Systems Space-Based Radar Requirements Analysis" by Col Phil Faye, Director, Simulation Based Acquisition Office, Electronic System Center; and "Integrated Command and Control for Space Command" by Col Randy Kelly, ESC. Both industry and military professionals who want to learn the latest efforts to bring Space to the Warfighter, learn what to expect in the future, and where to invest IR&D dollars, need to attend this conference. This conference is a follow-on to the highly successful conference held last year at the Air Force Space Command. Interested parties are encouraged to register early.
