16 -- AUTOMATIC DATA PROCESSING (ADP), DEMAND ASSIGNED MULTIPLE ACCESS (DAMA), AND COMMON AVIONICS FLIGHT DECK COMMUNICATIONS CAPABILITIES WITH WEIGHT AND SPACE SAVINGS MODIFICATION PROGRAM (ADWS) FOR THE E-6B AIRCRAFT!! This synopsis replaces announcement #366933. The Naval Air Systems Command has a requirement to modify twenty (20) systems including the E-6B aircraft, its training systems, the Airborne Strategic Communications Engineering and Test (ASCET) Facility and the Systems Integration Laboratory (SIL) by performing the following activities: Adding capability for communication links to Defense Information System Network (DISN) operations; adding a capability to route data to and from a Battlestaff carry-on laptop; adding voice and data DAMA capabilities with appropriate cryptographic devices; removing existing ARC-182 radios and replacing them with Common Avionics radios for commercial navigation systems/air traffic management (CNS/ATM) compatibility; and removing or replacing avionics equipment for space and weight savings. The ADWS modification program requires the delivery of a minimum of five (5) ADWS modified E-6B aircraft delivered to the fleet by July 2001 with complete and in-place logistics support. The contractor shall develop the methodology, design, and support elements necessary to execute this effort. The resultant ADWS design, integration, installation and operation shall be compatible with all E-6B systems and not degrade the performance, reliability, and safety of the current E-6B mission. The ADWS modification shall not cause the E-6B to exceed its current specified zero gross fuel weight. This solicitation is unrestricted.
