Fletcher, Contracting Officer, (228) 689-8369 The Naval Oceanographic Office has a requirement for a Towed Bioassayer System, quantity (1) each, in accordance with Government specifications, to also include a towbody, quantity (1) each; training, quantity (1) job; full system documentation, quantity (1) lot; shipboard subsystem spare parts kit, quantity (1) each. This requirement is for the delivery of a currently available off-the-shelf high resolution echo sounder system for undersea operations in accordance with Government specifications. System shall provide realtime color-coded echograms of volume backscattering strength and target strength, shall have ability to separate water column into up to ten separate vertical layers with overlapping allowed, and shall perform statistical analysis of fish echoes providing numerical values of single fish target strengths, vertical target strength distributions, and population densities. System is comprised of transducer/ transceiver sets, either single beam or split beam, with transducers designed for deployment in a towbody and transceivers housed in the shipboard subsystem; logging and processing software to run on Government-owned UNIX workstation; calibration hardware and software for transducer/transceiver sets; hydrodynamic towbody; color CRT display, transmit and receive electronic circuitry, data acquisition and analyzing circuitry, a means for storing the data, a means for providing a hard copy output of statistical data, and an operator interface. Delivery to be made FOB Destination to Naval Oceanographic Office, Stennis Space Center, MS within 90/120 days after date of order. Inspection and acceptance to be at destination. This acquisition is for commercial items in accordance with the format in Part 12.5, using Simplified Acquisition Procedures .
