Description
The U.S. Department of Labor/Management & Training Corporation will be accepting sealed bids on a project entitled Ma intenance Building, Sierra Nevada Job Corps Center. The estimated range of cost is $1,000,000 -- $5,000,000. A pre-bid con ference/walkthrough will be held Wednesday, January 23, 2002 at 2:00 pm, local time, Sierra Nevada Job Corps Center, 5005 E cho Avenue, Reno, Nevada. Subcontractors and major equipment/materials supplies are encouraged to attend. Contract documents will be available for general contractors and selected subcontractors from the architect at a deposit of $150.00 per set (maximum four sets available to general contractors): Sheehan, Van Woert, Bigotti, 300 South Wells Avenue, Suite 1, Reno, Nevada, 89502, 775/328/1010. A general description of the project is as follows: The Maintenance Building is a 15,656 square foot facility for receiving and distributing maintenance materials and supplies . Major construction features include a metal building frame and metal building roofing system, a 3,653 square foot mezzan ine of structural steel, steel joist and plywood sheathing construction, two types of exterior manufactured siding applied over structural metal stud framing, aluminum storefront, light gauge interior metal stud framing for gypsum board applicati on, and acoustical lay-in ceilings, carpeting, ceramic tile, resilient flooring, and painted finishes. The HVAC system in the office area consists of high efficiency forced air furnaces with DX cooling and an air cooled conden sing unit. The warehouse area will be heat and vent only using gas fired separated combustion unit heaters with capability for 100 percent outside air for summertime ventilation. All plumbing fixtures were selected and specified for their water conservation features. The electrical system consists of fluorescent lighting in the office areas, metal halide high bay lighting in the shop area s and metal halide exterior light fixtures. Receptacles are located for tasks throughout. Conduit for data/telephone jack s will be stubbed into accessible ceiling spaces for future wiring by others. Equipment will be connected as required. A fire alarm system is designed as required by the National Fire Protection Agency and local codes. Alternate No. 1: The Work consists of rough and final grading, compaction of soil, redwood headers, 6 inches minimum Type 2, Class B aggrega te base, 6 inches of asphaltic concrete paving, and parking striping as depicted on Drawing A1.1. See applicable specifica tion sections for specific materials requirements. Alternate No. 2: The Work consists of providing and installing interior metal wall liner panels as depicted on the Drawings and specified in Section 07415, Manufactured Wall Liner Panels. Alternate No. 3: The Work consists of substituting a high performance coating for the scheduled painting of canopies and trellis, exterior h and and guard railings, exterior steel doors and frames, exterior window frames, and the exterior exposed structural frame of the metal building system.
