Description
Military Sealift Command proposes to acquire, by negotiation deep ocean capable tug and barge services to transport G overnment cable. The contract will require the fabrication of a cable storage tank/Creel inside the barge to accommodate tra nsport of cable and the development of special loading and unloading support platforms to be installed on the barge during l oading/unloading. The tug must be of US or NATO Registry. The crew must be US Citizens. The period of performance shall b e an approximately 75-day charter to load, transport and off-load cable. The vessel must present on 05 April 2002 at Portlan d,OR and the discharge port will be within a 5,000 mile radius. The Government will require a post-award conference and fina l review and approval of the barge storage design. All responsible sources may submit an offer which will be considered. Th e RFP will be posted and can be viewed at www.msc.navy.mil. Closing date will be 15 days after issuance of the RFP
