Description

The United States Air Force is holding a Concept Development kick-off meeting in Colorado Springs, 29-30 Jan 02, with scheduled keynote address by Lt Gen Dekok, Vice Commander of Air Force Space Command (AFSPC), to support planning and decision making during the CY02-03 USAF Modernization Planning Process cycle. The meeting will introduce parameters and guidelines for industry to work with a Technical Interchange Process team to develop and provide concepts that solve AFSPC operational deficiencies in five sub-mission areas. The sub-mission areas are Defensive Counterspace/Situational Awareness; Launch/Range Operations; Global Prompt Strike; Satellite Communications; and Space Training, Education, and Exercise (STEDE). We are providing information to help industry complete in detail, mid-term (~'10-15) and far-term (~'15-'30) concepts. This is a meeting announcement only; the government does not intend to award any contracts based on this action or to pay any costs associated with this information. Interested parties should request additional information from the individual identified at the end of this paragraph below, NLT 18 Jan 02. Intent to attend should be submitted NLT 25 Jan 02. Specific guidance to facilitate future call for concept ideas will be provided by USAF along with references made to applicable Development Plan(s) and corresponding Mission Area Plan(s) and Mission Support Plan(s).
