- Description
- The work consists of providing selective tree and shrub cutting, pruning and removal services at two sites along the banks of the Cape Cod Canal, Bourne, MA. The first site is a 1/2 acre sloped plot located on the north side of the Canal; the second site i s approximately 3.6 miles long by an average of 40 feet wide along the south side of the Canal. The vegetation consists primarily of oak, pitch pine, cedar, cherry and locust trees with considerable undergrowth. The vegetation is not continuous and most tr ees range between 2 and 8 inches in diameter at the tree trunk. There is also a significant amount of invasive vine growth such as bittersweet, virginia creeper and poison ivy. The work sites require operating chain saws and removing vegetation from steepl y sloping terrain. A portion of the work may require working from a bucket truck. The work sites are in close proximity to electric power lines and within area used for public recreation. Specifications will be available on or about 7 January 2002.
