Description of work:The contractor shall provide cylindrical magnesium anodes with exposed steel wire core at each end in the composition, lengths, diameters, and quantities as specified herein. Price shal l be F.O.B. at the location specified below. Delivery shall be made on normal working days, Monday through Thursday, excluding federal holidays, between 7:00 am and 4:00 pm local time. At least 3 working days prior to day of delivery, the contractor shall contact Kim Ostler at 541-374-8442 to make arrangements for delivery. Anodes shall be delivered no later than 90 calendar days after receipt of signed purchase order to: Bonneville Lock & Dam, warehouse, Exit 40 from Interstate 84, Cascade Locks, Oregon. Anodes shall be of extruded magnesium and shall contain a steel wire. Anodes shall have 2 inches of the steel core wire exposed at each end. The specified anode lengths include the lengths of exposed core wire at each end. The magnesium anodes shall be of the following chemical composition: Aluminum 0.5-3.5 percent; Manganese 0.20 percent minimum; Zinc 07-1.3 percent; Silicon 0.05 percent maximum; Copper 0.01 percent maximum; Nickel 0.001 percent maximum; Iron 0.002 percent maximum; Other Impurities 0.30 percent maximum; Magnesium Remainde r. Request for Quotations (RFQ) available on or about 17 December 2001. All quotes will be due on or about 3 January 2002.
