Description

The government has a Sole source requirement for the development and evaluation of a comprehensive two-dimensional gas chromatography (GC x GC)/Time of Flight Mass Spectrometer (TOFMS) system for the analysis of target compounds in complex mixtures. This is a sole source contract with the University of Washington. 10 U.S.C.2304(c)(3) and FAR 6.302-3(a)(ii) permit other than full and open competition. The contractor will procure and couple a TOFMS with a valve-based GC x GC analyzer provided by the contractor, develop a method for using the coupled instruments to analyze target compounds in a complex mixture, and develop a chemometric method to deconvolute unresolved compound signals from the coupled instruments. The contractor shall provide a report evaluating the performance of the GC x GC-TOFMS system for the analysis of the target compounds to include reporting detection limits, chromatographic resolution, and chemometric analysis results. A one-year basic contract with 1one-year options is required. Negotiations will be conducted with SEE Notes 22 & 26.
