- Description
- The U. S. Coast Guard is considering whether or not to set-aside an acquisition for Historically Underutilized Business Zone (HUBZone) concerns only. The estimated magnitude of this construction project is between $100,000 and $250,000. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) for this acquisition is 235610 and the small business size standard is $11.5 Million. The acquisition is for Replacement of the Roof, Port of York Building (Building 234), U. S. Coast Guard Training Center Yorktown, Yorktown, VA. The Port of York Building serves as a dining facility with a lounge and club. The work includes, but is not limited to, demolition and removal of the existing loose laid single-ply PVC membrane, stone ballast, flashings, polystyrene insulation, slip sheet, and perlite board; installation of new modified bituminous membrane roof, flashings, tapered insulation system with crickets; removal of asbestos-containing materials (pitch pocket filler), removal and disposal of roof-mounted mechanical equipment; providing temporary freezer and refrigerator units; and incidental related work. Work includes a Base Bid Item. At the present time, the acquisition is expected to be issued under full and open competition procedures. However, in accordance with FAR 19.1305, if your firm is HUBZone certified and intends to submit an offer on this acquisition, please respond by e-mail or facsimile to Ms. Victoria Worrell at vworrell@fdcclant.uscg.mil or(757) 852-3495 (fax). In your response include: (a) a positive statement of your intention to submit a bid for this solicitation as a prime contractor; (b) evidence of experience in work similar in type and scope to include contract numbers, project titles, dollar amounts, and points of contacts and telephone numbers; and, (c) a positive statement of your remaining bonding capability. Your response is requested by December 21, 2001. All of the above must be submitted in sufficient detail for a decision to be made on availability of interested HUBZone concerns. Failure to submit all information requested may result in a contractor not being considered as an interested HUBZone concern. A decision on whether this will be pursued as a HUBZone small business set-aside or on an unrestricted basis will be posted on the Electronic Posting System (EPS) web site.
