- Description
- 1. Provide all material, equipment, and supervision for the removal, disposal and re-installation of the ACM insulation located in the air-handling mechanical rooms at the Office of Personnel Management Building, located at 1900 E St. NW Washington, DC. 2. Exact location of air-handlers to be renovated will be determined by the Office of Personnel Management Building Manager. 3. Furnish warehousing, employee certification, medical surveillance and personal air monitoring. 4. All work will be performed in accordance with current federal, District of Columbia, and local regulations concerning asbestos removal. Provide to the Owner your copies of all notices, permits, disposal manifests, and any other documentation required. 5. Provide an independent Industrial Hygienist to conduct air monitoring during and after the asbestos removal portion of this project. Clear each work area containment area utilizing TEM final clearance sampling methods. 6. All ACM removal work shall be performed during off-hours consisting of 6:30 PM Fridays through 6:00 AM Mondays. 7. The removal of asbestos from each Air-Handling Room shall be performed and completed over one (1) weekend, including TEM final clearance, and excluding the re-insulation. 8. Re-insulating the air-handlers shall consist as a minimum the following materials and or procedures: A. Re-insulate with 2-inch thick FSK 3 lb. Board glass. B. Firmly secure board glass to air-handler housing and tape all joints. C. Install metal corners to all 90-degree angles on entire air-handler. D. Cover entire air-handler with 8-oz. Canvas cloth. E.
