Description

The Social Security Administration intends to negotiate solely with LANSA INC, 1520 Kensington Road, Suite 110, Oak Brook Ill. 60523 under the authority of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 13.106-1(b) ?Soliciting from a Single Source? for continued maintenance on the proprietary software ?NEW LOOK? which is already installed on Government machines at Disability Determination Service (DDS) centers in California. The software is used in case processing, using the MIDAS (SSA Developed) code. The period of performance is 12 months. The MIDAS application runs on an IBM AS400 as a SSA centralized processing production system. Over two years have already gone into the planning, development, validation and testing of the NewLook. The Contract Line Item Number (CLIN) description, and quantity are as follows: CLIN 0001: Maintenance for NEW LOOK Standard Edition Software for 1500 copies , QTY : 12 (twelve) months; CLIN 0002 Maintenance for NEW LOOK Professional Edition for 12 copies, QTY: 12 (twelve) months. LANSA is the only authorized North American dealer of NEW LOOK products and maintenance known to the Government. The Government anticipates the award of a firm-fixed price purchase order. Written responses to this synopsis shall contain sufficient documentation to establish a bonafide capability to fulfill this requirement. A solicitation is not available. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed order based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
