Description

The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) at Patuxent River, Maryland has a requirement for eighty-nine (89) 512K MiniButton memory button readers, including backlit accessory, four line graphic display, hirose connector, and mini read head; eighty-nine (89) fingertip reader extensions; and eighty-nine (89) download packages. The Government intends to contract on a sole source basis with MacSema, Inc., 62971 Plateau Drive, Suite 400, Bend OR 97701-5874. MacSema Inc. is the only known source for providing the 512K MiniButton memory button reader and fingertip reader accessory systems that are compatible with the existing utilized memory buttons. It is essential that these additional systems be fully compatible with the equipment they are designed to support in order to provide for interoperability. This procurement is being processed in accordance with the Simplified Acquisition Procedures, Part 13 of the FAR. This is a request for quotation (RFQ) number N00421-02-Q-3092. Procurement will be made via a DPAS DO rated Government purchase order, which will incorporate provisions and clauses in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2001-01 and DCN 20011101. The applicable NAICS code is 334119 and the applicable PSC code is 7025. Responses to this notice of intent to negotiate with MacSema, Inc. should be submitted no later than fifteen (15) days from the date of this synopsis to Mr. Chris Harritt, Contract Specialist, at Contracts, Code AIR-251623, Building 515, Naval Air Systems Command, 47227 Whalen Road, Patuxent River, MD 20670-1463.
