Description

This is a Request for Information (RFI) and no contract will be awarded pursuant to this announcement. There is no solicitation document associated with this announcement. The Government invites comments and interested parties to submit their indication of interest along with any document they deemed necessary. The Corona Division, Naval Surface Warfare Center, Corona is interested in acquiring information on leasing a commercially available instrumented training system for Naval aircrew use in the Naval Air Station (NAS) Key West operational areas (OPAREAs). The system must consist of aircraft instrumentation that provides real-time Global Positioning System (GPS) Time, Space, Position Information (TSPI) information on at least 36 high-activity participants. This instrumentation must be carried on an external wing station. Internal instrumentation packages will not be acce pted. System must include a minimum of two live monitoring and debrief stations. System must require no more than two ground support/relay stations while providing coverage of up to 100 nm from NAS Key West. Request information on equipment maintenance options. Firms having such systems are requested to submit information outlining the capabilities of these systems. Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM) price information is requested for use in business analysis. Responses will be evaluated and a solicitation list established of those firms that are determined capable of fulfilling the Government requirements. At a later date, the Government may issue a Request for Proposal for lease of a system. This request for information (RFI) is for planning purposes only and shall not be construed as a request for proposal or as an obligation on the part of the Government to acquire any services. The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this RFI or otherwise pay for the information solicited. No entitlement to payment of direct or indirect costs or charges by the Government will arise as a result of submission of responses to this RFI and Government use of such information. The Government reserves the right to reject in whole or in part any industry input as a result of this RFI. This RFI does not constitute the solicitation of proposals. The Government recognizes that proprietary data may be part of this effort. If so, clearly mark such restricted or proprietary data and present it as an addendum to the non-restricted/non-proprietary information. Data or samples provided will not be returned. Responses to this RFI must be received in writing no later than COB Pacific Standard Time on 02/04/2002.
