U.S. Army Worldwide Public Affairs Symposium February 5-6, 2002 The Hilton McLean-Tysons Corner McLean, Virginia The U.S. Army Public Affairs Symposium is the premier training opportunity for Army public affairs professionals around the world. Soldiers and civilians focus on implications of community relations and outreach programs of the Department of the Army. Professions include, but are not limited to, reporters, photographers, videographers, writers. Army public affairs professionals are responsible for Soldiers Radio and Television and Army Newswatch. Soldiers Radio and Television provides news and information about soldiers and civilians in today's Army to the entire force. SRTV produces radio and television stories from their studios in Alexandria, Virginia, and in Atlanta, Georgia. Soldiers Radio and Television products broadcast on the Armed Forces Radio and Television Service and on close to 400 military and civilian stations across the U.S. Army Newswatch takes a comprehensive look at what is happening throughout the Army. This award winning biweekly television newscast is produced by soldiers and is about soldiers. Newswatch focuses on the issues, the equipment and the people that make the Army what it is today. This is a 4 day conference that includes 350-400 affairs specialists with varied technology interests. The exposition will be held on February 5 & 6, 2002.
