Description

The Presidio Trust, a Federal government corporation, is soliciting bids from qualified firms to perform re-roofing of Building 102 Montgomery Street (prior to seismic work by others), a historic 1890s brick masonry building, located at the Presidio of San Francisco. Contractor shall provide all supervision, labor, materials, equipment required to re-roof entire roof, including: removal of perimeter sheathing (for seismic ties by others), replacement sheathing where removed, new sheathing entire roof, new roofing and flashing entire roof, removal and replacement of skylights. The Presidio is a National Park and a National Historic Landmark. Tentative start date is Spring 2002. Period of Performance is approximately 80 calendar days. Estimated cost is between $100,000 and $250,000. Davis Bacon Act (U.S. Dept. of Labor prevailing wage rates) applies. Minimum qualifications include: valid California Contractor's License; current Certificate of Insurance and AHERA certificate for workers & supervisor showing that they have completed accredited training in order to disturb asbestos containing materials. A MANDATORY site visit is scheduled for Tuesday, January 29, 2001 at 10:00 a.m. Meet at Building 102 Montgomery Street (Presidio Main Post). Only those firms attending this mandatory site visit may bid this contract. Bid package including drawings will be provided at the site visit.
