DESC: Synopsis: This is an insurance policy acquisition. We anticipate a Firm Fixed Price type contract for WIRING HARNESSES, NSN: 6150-01-281-5382AO, P/N: 2959100-1, applicable to ALIC COMPUTER, HARM. There is a Mission Essential (MEQ) quantity of seven (7) each, a Production quantity of two (2) each with two (2) each First Articles, both expended in testing. There are four (4) out-year option periods with ranges of 1-10 each. Material: Multi-wires and connectors. Function: Interface the aircraft and the launcher computer via the motherboard. Dimensions: 9" high X 14" wide. NOTE: Insurance policy procedures provide the Government the means of competing the maximum practical quantity of a requirement while acquiring an MEQ from a proven source to ensure continued mission support during the production capability validation from an unproven source. This critical wiring harness is determined to be of such complexity that first testing measures are required for all unproven sources. Additionally, a break in the supply of this item would seriously impact the mission capability or cause serious damage or harm. This wiring harness is tightly fitted within the ALIC and snakes its way throughout the entire launcher assembly and works in conjunction with the end item to provide capability for Suppression of Enemy Air Defenses (SEAD). Due to its importance and an increasing number of failures, any delays or failures in the first article process with adversely impact the agency's ability to support its customers in the current real world environment and its ability to meet material support dates required to support this MICAP item.
