- Description
- THIS NOTICE CONSTITUTES MODIFICATION NO. 3 TO THE COMBINED SYNOPSIS/RFQ FOR SOFI GRINDER. Companies shall acknowledge all amendment(s) in their quote. This notice serves as the official amendment to subject synopsis/RFQ and a written amendment will not be issued. The purpose of this amendment is to post questions which were asked as a result of this solicitation and to provide answers in response thereto. The questions and answers are stated below as follows: Question 1: How will the shredder hopper be loaded, i.e. forklift or dump bucket? What is the maximum reach height of this loading unit and it's loading bucket dimensions. These dimensions will determine the stand height and perhaps shredder hopper opening width. Answer 1: The shredder will be loaded with a tip over dumpster and fork lift. The maximum reach height of the forklift will be the 12'. The tip over dumpster dimensions are 7' X 4' X 4.5' (l X w X h). Question 2: What are the physical dimensions of your existing collection container? The container height will determine the angle and length of the shredder discharge conveyor. Answer 2: The discharge container will be 22' X 7.5' X 8' (l X w X h). Question 3: What is the composition of the material? For example, if it is wood, what type? Tree limbs, pallets, wood trim scrap? What is the largest and smallest size of the pieces (l x w x h) for all the materials known to enter the shredder system? Answer 3: The foam material to be shredded is a 2-3 lb./cubic ft. density material. Sometimes, the foam insulation may be backed with 1/8" aluminum. Pieces 6' x 6' x 3" will need to be loaded into the hopper. The material will be required to be shredded into pieces NO LARGER THAN 10" in any dimension. Question 4: How are the materials to be loaded into the shredder? Answer 4: The material will be dumped into the shredder hopper from a tip over dumpster (dimensions given in question #1) that will be elevated by a forklift to the shredder hopper. Question 5: What is the exact description and limits of the metal and its size? Answer 5: 2219 Aluminum [tempered], nominal 1/8" panel. The test panels sprayed with the foam are 24" X 24" X 0.125". Occasionally there will be panels that 12" X 19" X 0.125" with 0.125" ribs that are 2" tall on the surface of the panels. Question 6: Is there an end use for the shredded material? Answer 6: No, the shredded material will be incinerated. Question 7: What is the conveyor discharge height? The 8' height will be for a tall dumpster. Question 8: What does SOFI stand for? Answer 8: Sprayed-On Foam Insulation. The due date for receipt of offers is extended to 4:30 P.M. CST November 30, 2001.
