Description

The intent of this Work is to replace the railing on Theodore Roosevelt Island Bridge, George Washington Memorial Parkway (GWMP) to create a safe and maintainable condition. The work of this contract consists of the following: 1) Remove existing railing. Existing posts are to be salvaged and delivered to the GWMP Maintenance Facility. Gate and gate hardware are to remain in place and to be installed on new railing; 2) Construct 1,070' of railing and 140 posts. Posts are to match existing tapered 6x6 posts; 3) Flood coat all endgrain and all costs to refusal. Treatment performed on GWMP property must include a method of secondary containment in the event that the primary container ruptures or treatment process causes spilling or over-spray.
