Description

Furnish all labor, supplies (except those designated as Government-furnished), equipment and transportation necessary to perform mechanical treatment of shrubs and slash as part of the process in establishing a research study designed to compare slash-reduction systems. The research sites are located on the Challenge Experimental Forest (located in Challenge, CA) and near the Whitmore Garden of Eden Site (located in Whitmore, CA). Tasks to be performed by the Contractor are 1) chop all the standing shrubs and downed slash in the buffers which surround the research plots; 2) chop the 1-acre research plots designated as receiving this treatment (4 plots at each study site); 3) mulch all the standing shrubs and downed slash in the 1-acre research plots that are designated as receiving this treatment (4 plots at each study site).
