Description
Announcement of TCRP Research Allocations for FY 2002 The Transit Development Corporation's Board of Directors met in Washington, D.C., on October 25-26, 2001, and selected the following new projects for the Transit Cooperative Research Program in fiscal year 2002: D-8, Safe Roadway Crossings for Bus Passengers; D-9, Geometric Design Guide for Accommodating Transit Vehicles and Facilities on Highways and Streets; F-11, Human Resources Study of Workforce Development in the North American Transit Industry; and H-30, Strategies to Increase Coordination of Transit Services at the Regional Level. Additional projects selected, but that are contingent on additional funding are: B-25, Handbook on Market Research Methods; B-26, The NEXT Generations of Transit Customer; and D-10, Effects of Audible Signals on Pedestrian Safety for LRV Systems. Preliminary scopes of work for each project are available on the Internet at http://www4.trb.org/trb/crp.nsf under "Upcoming Projects". Project Statements inviting proposals will be available at the same Internet site beginning around March 2002. You may register electronically at the same site for notification of project statement postings.
