- Description
- The Atlantic Division, Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC), Norfolk, Virginia intends to acquire maintenance and repairs for HVAC equipment and electronic control systems for Indoor Small Arm?s Ranges Worldwide for the Atlantic Division, Naval Facilities Engineering Command and Other Activities. This is a proposed combination lump sum and indefinite delivery indefinite quantity type contract for a base period of one year with four one year options to extend. The total cost of this contract is between $100,000.00 and $250,000.00. The North American Industrial Classification System code is 235110 with a small business threshold of $11.5 million dollars annually. The Government plans to make a sole source award to Gleason and Elfering at 1375 Wilhelm Road, Mundelein, IL 847-566-6009. Gleason and Elfering has been determined to be the only responsible source to perform this work because of their unique experience in installing the SAR HVAC equipment at the below mentioned locations. See Numbered Note 22. The work involves providing preventative maintenance for Small Arms Range ventilation systems and controls to include, visit the site on a quarterly basis, change or clean the supply filters in the make up air unit, rangemasters office and simulator room quarterly, furnish and install new belts annually, grease all bearings and oil motors where necessary, check the control system for proper operation, check the heat operation and document to base on two visits per year, call the system via modem once a month to check proper operation of the ventilation system, service the ventilation system if there are problems between maintenance periods at a negotiated price, check the exhaust side filters quarterly to assure the activity is properly maintaining the filters, once per year the designer of the system will visit the site and check the operation. This will include assuring proper operation and maintenance. This annual visit will recommission the range. The range will annually be back in the condition that the range was turned over to the customer after construction. The work will be performed at SARs at Crane, Indiana Naval Base; Iceland Naval Ait Station; and Camp Elmore, Norfolk, VA. Future sites will be added as construction is completed. One site currently planned is at Fort Worth, Texas. The Government expects the addition of no more than 15 unidentified SARs during the term of this contract.
