- Small business sources sought for FSC 84, protective clothing. Small business dealer must provide products from small domestic manufacturere. There are no requirements at this time. ***************************************************************** IPD Dated 5/15/01 NSN 8415-00-286-7507 NFES 0045 CHAPS, PROTECTIVE, SIZE 32: Shall be in accordance with Forest Service Specification 6170-4F, dated January 20, 2000, and Drawings MTDC 823 Revision B, dated January 2000, and MTDC 824 Revision B, dated January 2000, with the following characteristics: Size 32 inch length First article sample(s) are required. A copy of the pamphlet "Inspecting and Repairing Your Chain Saw Chaps" shall be placed inside each unit package plastic bag prior to sealing in accordance with 3.2.10, 5.2, 6.6 and 6.9 of the specification. EXCEPTION TO 6170-4F. 1. Table II. Physical requirements for needled aramid felt cloth. For minimum thickness requirement DELETE "0.009" REPLACE with "0.057". For maximum thickness requirement, DELETE "0.011"and REPLACE with "0.073". 2. Paragraph 5.2, Packaging. Delete the last sentence and replace with the following: "A camera-ready copy of the pamphlet "Inspecting and Repairing Your Chain Saw Chaps" shall be obtained from the preparing activity (6.9)." PACKAGING: Each pair of chaps shall be folded and packaged in accordance with 5.1, 5.1.1, and 5.2 of the specification. Prior to sealing the plastic bag a copy of MTDC supplied pamphlet "Inspecting and Repairing Your Chain Saw Chaps" shall be inserted with each pair of chaps. PACKING: Ten (10) pairs, each packaged as specified, shall packed in accordance with 5.3 of the specification. MARKING: The unit packaging and shipping containers shall be marked in accordance with 5.4 (and 5.4.1 when applicable). PALLETIZATION: The shipping containers shall be palletized. The pallets shall be 48-inch length x 40-inch width, general purpose, four-way entry, flush stringer, double face non-reversible pallets. The palletized load shall not exceed 2500 pounds in weight. The palletized load shall not overhang the pallet and shall not exceed 53 inches in overall height. Less than half pallet loads or loads shipped by small package carrier need not be palletized. NOTICE: All lumber used inside or outside a shipment shall be BARK FREE.
