Description
The United States Marine Corps (USMC) is seeking information from any commercial sources capable of providing, in whole a Commercial Off the Shelf/ Non-Developmental Item (COTS/NDI) (backhoe loader) to replace its current inventory of 179 Small Emplacement Excavators over a three-year period commencing FiscalYear 2003. The required product characteristics include: ? deployable as an external load by heavy lift helicopter; ? transportable by standard rail, marine and highway modes of transportation as well as by such military aircraft as a C-130, C-141, C-5 and C-17; ? diesel-fuel capacity; ? automatic, all wheel drive with attachments; ? equipped with a front-end loader and backhoe excavator; ? capable of rapidly excavating a variety of holes, pits, trenches and earthworks; ? equipped with on-board hydraulic tools, i.e., chainsaw, pavement breaker and impact wrench; transportable over rough terrain and operable in environmental extremes; ? overland speed of at least 19 mph and objective of 25 mph; ? ease of use and reliability of the engine; ? ease of connecting and disconnecting attachments; demonstrated performance test results and analytical data supporting the off-road and highway operating capability of the product including but not limited to stability, reliability, availability, maintainability and durability of the product and its attachments; ? established worldwide customer service capabilities including Pacific Rim locations such as Hawaii and Japan; ? standard commercial warranty with options for an extension to 60 months Firms possessing the capabilities to accomplish this requirement are invited to submit a statement of qualification, enclose product literature, past performance information, current GSA or other schedule information (if applicable) and price schedules/catalogues. Responses to this RFI should be received no later than January 7, 2002. Product information shall be submitted to Commander, Marine Corps System Command, ATTN: Ms. Peggy Smith, CTQ, 2033 Barnett Ave., Suite 315, Quantico, VA. 22134-5010. Telephone responses will not be honored.
