Description

DESC: MARKET RESEARCH, NO SOLICITATION DOCUMENT EXISTS. Marine Corps Systems Command (MARCORSYSCOM) is seeking identification of Electron Muscular Disrupter (EMD) devices that are currently available as Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) items or are to be COTS available items within the next 90 days. EMDs sought are comprised only of devices for incapacitating individuals via electrical current discharge into the body. All respondents should limit their responses to high-powered devices (output power greater than 20 watts) that have a standoff (max. engagement range) capability of at least 18 feet. Information requested should include the following for each product: (1) Item Description and technical specifications (range, accuracy, battery requirements and life, reload/engagement time, warranty, MTBF, shelf life, multi-mode uses, etc); and, (2) Cost data for units and expandable components (?ammo?) and accessories (e.g., Holsters, attachments, etc.) Responses to this request for information (RFI) should be submitted no later than 30 November 2001. Any data that is of a proprietary nature should be marked as such. Responses should be in electronic format, either Word 2000 compatible or Adobe Acrobat 4.0 compatible and addressed to pladsonac@mcsc.usmc.mil.
