Description
The Department of Transportation (DOT) Transportation Administration Service Center (TASC), plans to release a Request for Proposal (RFP) for security guard support services at the DOT headquarter buildings in Washington, DC. The procurement will be competitively set-aside for 8(a) contractors and is anticipated to be restricted to 8(a) concerns within the Washington, DC, Richmond, VA, and Baltimore, MD district offices in accordance with FAR 52.219-18. The applicable NAICS code is 561612. Award of a firm-fixed-priced contract (commencing April 1, 2002) with a base and four option years is anticipated. Release of a draft solicitation for comment is planned for no later than the last week of November, 2001 and release of the formal solicitation is planned for no later than mid-December, 2001. Both the draft and formal solicitations will be distributed electronically via the Government's electronic posting Web site at http://www.eps.gov (reference solicitation DTTS59-01-R-00440 under the Department of Transportation, Transportation Administrative Service Center). Offeror questions/comments on the draft solicitation will not be answered but will be incorporated into the final solicitation at the sole discretion of the Government. THE GOVERNMENT WILL NOT DISTRIBUTE HARD COPIES OF THE SOLICITATION; DISTRIBUTION WILL ONLY BE DONE VIA THE AFOREMENTIONED METHOD SO FIRMS SHOULD NOT RESPOND TO THIS NOTICE BY REQUESTING TO BE PLACED ON A SOLICITATION MAILING LIST. It is anticipated the solicitation and related documents will be provided in Microsoft Word format. The solicitation will have instructions for providing questions and comments. DOT anticipates that all subsequent solicitation documents (e.g., amendments to the RFP and responses to questions) will be disseminated to offerors via the same method. ATTENTION: Minority, Women-owned, and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBEs)! The Department of Transportation (DOT) Short-Term Lending Program (STLP) offers working capital financing in the form of lines of credit to finance accounts receivable for transportation related contracts.
