Description

The U.S. Department of Commerce, National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), has a requirement for a superconducting magnet and support structure. This system shall consist of a commercial superconducting solenoid magnet with a guaranteed 14 T magnetic field rating at 4.2 K, and a guaranteed 16 T magnetic field rating at 2.2 K, a 52 mm diameter clear vertical cold bore, 0.1% homogeneity in 1 cm diameter spherical volume, a lambda point refrigerator, a magnet support structure and operation manual. This item shall be delivered within ten months after receipt of order. This best value procurement will be evaluated on technical merit, prior success with similar requirements for a similar application and price.
