Description

This announcement is for a small business set-aside (Size standard: $18.5 M annual average gross revenue for the last three fiscal years.) The U.S. Department of State (DOS), Office of Acquisition Management is seeking a qualified small business to provide secure packaging, packing and crating services to support shipments of building materials, communications and surveillance equipment and security sensitive items to diplomatic posts throughout the world. The proposed award will be a Firm-Fixed Price,Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract with duration of one base year plus four option years. Packing services will be at various DOS facilities in the metropolitan Virginia and Washington, D. C. areas. Crate manufacturing will be at contractor's facility. Line items include staggered response times and varying degrees of Government furnished material. Packing procedures will be in accordance with Mil-P-116, Mil-E-1755, DOT and IATA regulations. Services will include both air and surface shipments and some hazardous materials packing. All contractor personnel must have a secret security clearance. The solicitation will be available electronically on the Department of State Website on or about November 30, 2001. Requests for solicitation will not be accepted. Proposals will be due approximately 15 days after issuance of solicitation. The NAICS for this award is 488991. The solicitation will be issued via Internet on www.fedbizopps.gov; no hard copies will be issued. It is the firm's responsibility to monitor the Internet site for the release of the solicitation and amendments. Potential offerors will be responsible for downloading their own copy of the solicitation and amendments. Proposals must be received no later than 2:00 P.M.
