Description

US ARMY TACOM-ARDEC intends to issue a Request for Proposal for Multi-Role Armament and Ammunition System's (MRAAS) Turret Mission Module (TMM) and Weapons Control (WC) System which is now available in draft form. A RFI/ Draft of this request for proposal is available from http://procnet.pica.army.mil under solicitation number DAAE30-01-R-0220 which closes on 27 NOV 2001. The contractor will design, develop, build and fully integrate a lightweight and compact remote gun turret mission module including weapon control. The Government will provide a Multi-Role Armament and Ammunition System concept and its associated components. These components include but are not limited to; a swing chamber gun with smooth bore tube and muzzle brake, a recoil management system, a rigid lightweight mount structure, an Electro-Thermochemical (ETC) pulse forming network, an Ammunition Handling System, a secondary remote turreted armament and an ammunition suite. The contractor shall utlize the Government furnished armament components as the basis for the design, development and integration of the Turret Mission Module (TMM). Government is looking for the offeror with the Best Technical Approach developed through a multi-step process under a Cost plus Award Fee Contract; the nature of this action is a Research and Development technological effort, period of performance is projected until FY06. It is anticipated that this final solicitation will be issued on or about 7 DEC 2001 and will be available on the World Wide Web at the following adddress: http://procnet.pica.army.mil. Hard copies of this solicitation will not be issued. Contractors are required to be registered in the DOD Central Contractor Registry and paid via electronics Funds Transfer.
