NEW EVENT! Defense Contract Management Agency Security Awareness Day (DCMA) January 30, 2002 Alexandria, VA The Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) is the Department of Defense (DoD) contract manager, responsible for ensuring federal acquisition programs, supplies, and services are delivered on time, within cost, and meet performance requirements. This involves managing 325,000 prime contracts with current work valued at $852 billion. As a result, DCMA directly contributes to United States military readiness and the preservation of the nation's freedom. DCMA was formerly the Defense Contract Management Command, a major subordinate command of the Defense Logistics Agency. It supervises and administers contracts with the thousands of suppliers who deliver goods and services to the military each year. The new agency also is chartered to streamline and standardize the contracting process.
