Description

The U.S Army Commuinications-Electronics Command (CECOM), Research Development and Engineering Center (RDEC), Space & Terrestrial Communications Directorate (S&TCD), is conducting this Market Survey for a Developmental Pre-Production Engineering (EDM) contract for a small easily carried electronic device, known as Secure Gateway (SEGATE-Trusted Filter). SEGATE(Trusted Filter) will serve to ensure that tactical sensors operating in an unclassified environment can be controlled and data received by a rugged PC-class computer operating in a classified tactical environment. SEGATE(aTrusted Filter) will allow only specific commands and responses in a fixed format message passage between a rugged hosting computer unit and tactical radio via a shielded cable. The system shall incorporate all the security requirements under the National Security Agency (NSA)High Assurance Internet Protocol Encryptor System (HAIPES) provision. The form factor of this electronic device system will incorporate PCMCIA standard Type II or Type III. This system when integrated with a rugged computer will not degrade the environment requirements of the hosting unit. In addition, this system capability is not limited to data authentication, audits, review of audits, and error detects with defaulted actions.
