The command was activated in January 1983 as the successor to the Rapid Deployment Joint Task Force. The headquarters staff includes over 900 personnel from each of the four military services. USSOCOM: USSOCOM unifies more than 47,000 active duty and reserve component, special operations, psychological and civil affairs forces from the Army, Navy and the Air Force under a single commander. The company's Support Solutions programs share a common heritage of high-end, computer-driven technology to provide machinery controls, logistics management systems, and automated test solutions for air, land and sea military and commercial customers. Additionally, Lockheed Martin Information System's Information Technology and Identification Solutions programs provide end users with access to information drawn from complex computer systems to enable automated fingerprint recognition technologies and federal processing. STRICOM/NAWCTSD Orlando, FL December 13, 2001 Simulation, Training and Instrumentation Command (STRICOM) provides the Army with training devices, simulations, simulators and instrumentation for both training and testing. STRICOM's products and the products of its subordinate agencies have been training Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines for over 50 years. STRICOM Vision: One point for the Army in Interoperable Training, Testing, Instrumentation and Simulation Solutions for the Army's Transformation to the Objective Force. Within the Naval Air Systems Command, the Naval Air Warfare Center Training Systems Division (NAWCTSD) provides fully integrated life-cycle support (i.e., research, front-end analysis, acquisition, product support, and disposal) for training systems using state-of-the- art simulation and training technologies for all Naval warfare areas and other services. NAWCTSD is also one of the cornerstones of the National Center of Excellence for Simulation and Training.
