- Description
- The V-22 Fleet Support Team (FST) of the Naval Aviation Depot (NADEP), MCAS, Cherry Point, NC proposes to issue a Fixed Price contract to purchase services and material for the conversion of data files from a proprietary Canofile Electronic Filing System and from microfilm cartridges to an open system format on CDRom media, to procure Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) software for indexing, managing and retrieving the converted information, to create an indexing database and to provide user and administrative training for the COTS software. The V-22 FST is the archival agency for the V-22 Program. The V-22 FST has 41 Canon Canofile 502M magneto optical disks and 145, 16mm, microfilm cartridges. These optical disks and microfilm cartridges store archival data for the V-22 program. Due to the age of the optical disk media, the obsolescence of the Canofile system owned by the V-22 FST, and the age and lack of accessibility of the microfilm cartridges, the data on these media need to be converted to a more stable media and accessible format. The contractor shall convert the data on the Canofile optical disks and the microfilm cartridges, create an index database of the converted media, provide assistance in the incorporation of the new media into the V-22 jukebox system, provide assistance in installation of the client software to be used to access the data and provide training for the V-22 personnel in the use of the client software and the method of accessing the converted media. The purpose is to ensure that the archival data currently stored on the Canofile optical disks and microfilm cartridges will be readily accessible in the foreseeable future. Respondents must be capable of providing services that can meet the NADEP's needs and schedule.
