Description
The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) intends to post a request for proposals for Indefinite Quantity Contracts (IQCs) for technical services in the areas of Child Health, Maternal Health and Nutrition, Population, HIV/AIDS and Infectious Diseases. As a result of this solicitation, USAID anticipates the award of 7 to 10 IQCs, each for a five-year period, which include awards for specialty tiers in 1) Tuberculosis and 2) Media/PR Services. At a minimum, two U.S. Small Business set-asides are anticipated. The purpose of this RFP is to establish a worldwide mechanism that supports USAID Missions and Bureaus in the implementation of their Strategic Objectives, pertaining to reduction of unintended and mistimed pregnancies, maternal mortality, infant and child mortality, HIV transmission, and the threat of infectious diseases. Select "Population, Health & Nutrition" and then "Strategic Plan". ) TASC 2 will continue and expand the worldwide mechanism established by the first TASC IQC (TASC 1). TASC 2 shall provide cost-effective access to technical expertise and implementation support to meet evolving USAID needs. Increased use of effective interventions to reduce the threat of infectious diseases of major public health importance. USAID Missions and Bureaus are focusing increasing proportions of their resources for health and nutrition. The overall goal of the TASC Activity is to support Missions and Bureaus in achieving their strategic objectives by providing a source of long and short-term technical assistance, training and support to complete specified tasks in the areas of Child Health, Maternal Health and Nutrition, Population, HIV/AIDS and Infectious Diseases. This procurement is a full and open competition. The issuance date of the RFP is expected to be approximately 11/26/02. The closing date for submission of the proposals, to be specified in the RFP, will be approximately thirty (30) days thereafter. The NAIC Code for this procurement is 541990, and the small business size standard is $5 million. The preferred method of distribution of USAID Acquisition and Assistance (A&A) information is via the Internet. (By exception, USAID can provide solicitations on a 3.5" floppy disk (Microsoft 97 format), via e-mail, or in hard copy.) This pre-solicitation notice can be viewed and downloaded using the Agency Web Site. The solicitation, once issued, can be downloaded from the Agency web site. You are encouraged to access the solicitation via the Internet as this eliminates possible delays associated with mailing, in general, and particularly from overseas Missions.
