Description

The Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Boise, Idaho intends to solicit and negotiate a sole source contract with ERBE USA Incorporated to provide equipment to be used in the endoscopy suite.=20 The cost will include installation, delivery and training. ERBE USA, Inc is the sole provided for the Intelligent Cutting and Coagulation Technology (Endo-Cut) as well as Argon Plasma Coagulation workstation.=20 ERBE USA has a patent on these products. The Electro surgery consists of the following: Constant Low Voltage Technology; soft coagulation for Hot Biopsy and Tissue preconditioning, ENDO CUT for ERCP and Polypectomy, Power Peak System for Cutting Enhancement and Neutral Electrodes Safety System for patient plate monitoring. The following equipment has been issued patents: (1) Multifunctional Surgical Instrument =96 Patent No. 5,776,092; (2) Apparatus for Monitoring the Application of Neutral Electrodes on a Patient Undergoing High Frequency Electro-Surgery =96 Patent No. 5,087,257; (3) Self Oscillating Power Stage for Inverted Rectifier Power Supply =96 Patent No. 5,062,031; (4) High Frequency Electro surgery Apparatus with Limitation of Effective Value of Current Flowing Through a Surgical Instrument =96 Patent No. 5,267,997; (5) High Frequency Surgery Device for Cutting and/or Coagulating Biological Tissue =96Patent No. 4,969,885; (6)Feedback-Coupled High Frequency Power Oscillator =96 Patient No. 4,922,210; (7) High Frequency Generator for use with Loads Subject to great Impedance Variations =96 Patent No. 4,890,073; (8) High Frequency Electro surgical Apparatus for Thermal Coagulation of Biologic Tissues =96 Patent No. 4,860,745; (9) High-Frequency Surgical Instrument =96 Patent No. High-Frequency Electro surgical Unit with Timed Shut Down Interlock =96 Patent No. 4,658,815; (10) High-Frequency Surgical Apparatus =96 Patent No. 4,244,371 and Electro surgical Clip Structure =96 Patent No. 4,137, 919. For the Argon Plasma Coagulation: (1) Coagulation Device for Coagulation Biological Tissues =96 Patent No. 6,210,410; (2) Electro surgical Instrument =96 Patent No. 6,197,026; (3) Device for HF-Coagulation of Biological Tissues by Means of Flexible Endoscopy -- Patent No. 6,063,084 and (4) Electro surgical Unit and Method for Achieving Coagulation of Biological Tissues =96 Patent No. 5,720,745.=20 This is a notice of intent to issue a sole source contract to ERBE USA Incorporated for the procurement of these items. Responsible sources that are interested in this procurement are required to submit a response clear and convincing information that identifies their capabilities. In addition, the offeror must substantiate their offer with technical data, brochures, price list or catalogs, terms and conditions, delivery scheduled, discounts, etc. If this commodity is available under GSA contract, please provide the GSA schedule.
