Description

The Social Security Administration (SSA) requires the services of contractors to provide medical consultant services in the following specialties: Internal Medicine; Orthopedics; Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, Neurology, and Psychiatry. This procurement will be for commercial item services prepared in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 12 and will be conducted using simplified acquisition procedures in accordance with FAR Part 13. Consultation services shall consist of the paper review of medical evidence in disability claims on-site only at 1221 Nevin Avenue, Richmond, CA. No patient contact. Offerors must: (1) have a valid license to practice medicine in the US; (2) have current or recent clinical experience related to the specialties listed, or experience reviewing/adjudicating disability cases in the specialties listed, and (3) be available for onsite work a minimum of 12 hours per week between 6:00 A.M. and 6:00 P.M. Monday through Friday. Competitive pricing will be solicited and accepted. The expected date of contract will be in January 2002. The base period of performance shall be from the date of award through December 31, 2002, with provisions for the inclusion of three one-year option periods. The solicitation is scheduled for release on or about November 15, 2001, with proposals due twenty (20) days later. This requirement is a 100% small business set aside. Proposals received from other than small business will be deemed unacceptable and will be given no further consideration. No telephone requests for the solicitation will be accepted.
