Description

NASA/MSFC plans to issue a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for a Zygo GPO-ST TO GPI-XP (General Purpose Interferometer) UPGRADE. The upgrade will consist of the following: Item 1, Quantity 1 ea, GPI ST TO XPHR UPGRADE WHICH INCLUDES 1186-300-075 PC COMPUTER SYSTEM AND 6500-0149-01 POWER SUPPLY KIT. Item 2, Quantity 1 ea, LARGE APERTURE POWER SUPPLY KIT. Item 3, Quantity 1 ea, LARGE APERTURE 4" GPI XP KIT. Item 4, Quantity 1 ea, REMOVAL OF GPI ST FROM 32" SYSTEM AND ALIGNMENT TO 18" SYSTEM. Item 5, Quantity 1 ea, DIGITAL VIDEO PRINTER VGA INPUT. Item 6, Quantity 1 ea, HP2200C PRINTER. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). NASA/MSFC intends to purchase the items from Zygo Corporation. Currently, the rest of the system is Zygo and the upgrade to the system must be completely compatible with the associated hardware. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. local time on November 21, 2001. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency. An Ombudsman has been appointed.
