Description

The Great Lakes Acquisition Center intends to negotiate a sole source contract with Novel Electronics Inc. of St. Paul MN to provide a Pedar SP distribution measurement system and pedar cable box with RS232 interface. This equipment is being procured for the Chicago Health Care System, West Side Division, Chicago IL. Cost will include installation, delivery and training required. NAICS: 334510. The equipment must be compatible with the existing Motion Analysis Corporation Kinematics Measurement system. In addition, it must utilize capacitive sensor technology to provide actual force measurement, be able to provide for in-house calibrations and a sensor matrix arrangement that is distributed throughout the entire insole. The Government believes that Novel is the only company, which can provide this equipment that will satisfy the agency requirements. This is a sole source procurement under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures, and Other Than Full and Open Competition (FAR 6.302-1). This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes however; any firm that believes it can meet the requirements may give written notification to the Contracting Officer within seven days from the date of publication of this synopsis. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail, to demonstrate the ability to comply with the above requirements. Information can be sent to the Contracting Officer, VAMC-GLAC, Building 5, 5000 W. National Ave. Bldg. 5, Milwaukee WI 53295 or via fax to (414) 902-5440. Responses received will be evaluated however, a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. If no responses are received, the GLAC will proceed with the sole source negotiation with Novel.
