Description
Item 0001 -- Purchase and turn-key installation of a vertical reciprocating conveyor to be supplied complete and ready for use. The VRC will be used to safely and reliably transport various materials to and from the bottom of two different dry docks. The VRC will be used to move materials weighing a maximum of 6,000 pounds in and out of drydocks. It must be able to accept two 4 x 4 pallets side by side with a maximum height of seven (7) feet. The materials will be confinable to these pallets for easy transport to and from the VRC by fork truck. The VRC shall consist of one vertical conveyor and 2 transition plates (one plate for each drydock set-up). The VRC shall be attached to the drydock at the top by use of a permanent transition plate capable of supporting 15,000 pounds. The base shall be attached to the bottom of the drydock floor by means determined by the Contractor to me et the requirement. The contractor shall be responsible for all labor, tools, materials, equipment, management and transportation necessary to design, install and test the VRC for drydock operation. The proposed price of this item shall be inclusive of all specifications as set forth in the solicitation and performance of any required maintenance, repair required for the first year of operation. This price includes any parts/labor/travel associated with these repairs other than repairs caused from negligence by the government. VRC installation must comply with various national electrical, safety and fire codes. Pad eyes will need to be installed on the VRC for lifting and handling. Quantity 1 each VRC to be used in two drydocks. Item 0002 -- Data Requirements -- certification of load testing will be submitted prior to acceptance of material. Item 0003 -- Premium performance bonus will be considered for contractor proposing to meet required accelerated delivery and installation schedule of 10 February 2001. A site visit will be tentatively set up for November 16, 2001. The premium will be paid only upon successful installation within the delivery schedule.
