Description
Yakima Training Center (YTC) generates about 800 tons per year of soil contaminated with petroleum products (PCS) as a result of spills and wash rack sedimentation basin clean-outs. A YTC government personnel excavates, loads and hauls the soil to the cont ractor s site. Transportation miles should be limited to 30 miles of the containment area of YTC. The majority of soil is delivered to the site in dump trucks, belly dumps or roll offs. A small amount of the soil will be delivered in 55 gallon open top d rums (approx 50 tons). Government personnel will not unload the drums from the truck or dump them. The contractor will be responsible for dumping the drums. The empty drums will be returned to the government. YTC must be able to deliver soil to the cont ract site at any time during working hours on business days. There is no preferred method of treatment, but the contractor shall be permitted by the State of Washington to treat PCS.
