Quantity: 1 each. 7. 2MB SRAM type I PC Card (For Janus 2020). Product Number: 058744. Quantity: 1 each. All items need to be warranted for 1 year from date of installation. At present we have two Intermec Model 8646 barcode printers with acquisition dates of 1990 and 1995. One printer is not working and the company no longer has replacement pars for this model. The other printer is eleven years old. One of the printers is located in Supply Processing and Distribution (SPD) for use with the Generic Inventory Package (GIP) program. It is used to print new and replacement labels for the Primary and Secondary Inventory Points for various healthcare lines/services. The other printer is located in the Facilities Management Warehouse for use with the Automated Engineering Management System/Medical Equipment Reporting System (AEMS/MERS) program. The Inventory management specialist/NX Technician uses it to print new and replacement labels for all Nonexpendable Equipment (NX). An additional printer is requested for use by the Maintenance Scheduler and the AEMS/MERS ADPACs. Due to constant changes the printer is needed to print new and replacement labels for the space file. The equipment inventory program requires that the room be scanned before and after inventorying the contents. In order for this program to work efficiently, all rooms at this Medical Center need to be barcoded. The printer will also be used to print new and replacement labels for Building Service Equipment (BSE). The 2410 reader with the 9730 wedge will allow users to upload to a PC. The PC card is needed to allow use of the Janus 2020 readers with a personal computer. At present, we are using dumb terminals to upload inventory data. These are obsolete and will be removed from service in the near future. In order for our inventory to work efficiently, it is imperative that we have equipment that will allow us to upload to our PCs. Currently, SPD uses three Janus 2020 readers to inventory their Primary Inventory Point and numerous Secondary inventory points throughout the Medical Center. Data is then uploaded using the GIP. Due to daily use, these readers are constantly in need of repair. SPD is requesting the replacement of their readers and one additional reader to expedited the inventory process. Wedges will be placed on two computers to accommodate the Medical Supply Technicians. Our Inventory Management Specialist/NX Technician uses a Janus 2020 reader to inventory all Nonexpendable Equipment (NX) throughout the Medical Center. The data is uploaded using the AEMS/MERS program. We have three Purchasing Agents who maintain numerous Primary Inventory Points in the GIP. At present, we have only one Janus 2020 reader for their use. (This reader is frequently loaned out to SPD when their readers are down.) We are requesting two readers for use by the NX Technician and the Purchasing Agents. With the use of the PC card and wedges on each of their computers, the users will be able to upload data on their PCs. The Janus 2020 will be used as backups. In the past, our Engineering Section has not utilized the barcode capabilities in the AEMS/MERS program. The above equipment will be used for Preventive Maintenance Inspections (PMI) for BSE and NX. It will allow the user to upload collected PM data to a personal computer, close the PMI workorder, and post the activity to the equipment history. In order to use this program, they will need five readers, and two wedges. One wedge will be placed on the Maintenance Scheduler's computer and the other on her back up. The readers will be kept in the Maintenance Scheduler's office and issued to employees as needed. Employees from five different shops will use the readers to collect data for PM purposes. Since we have to download different programs for the packages (GIP/NX/PMI) involved in the barcode process, each area needs their own readers and accessories.
