Description

NASA/KSC plans to issue an Invitation for Bids (IFB) for the production and delivery of Liquid Nitrogen, Type II, Grade B and Grade C-Modified, in accordance with MIL-PRF-27401D dated 3 Oct 1995. Delivery of product by over-the-road, bulk cryogenic tanker trucks are required. The average size of deliveries is 25 tons per tanker truck. Multiple truck loads per day, may be required. Delivery of product is to Johnson Space Center, Houston, TX. FOB destination is required. The Best Estimated Quantities (BEQ's) per year is 6,000 tons of Grade B and 850 tons of Grade C-Modified liquid nitrogen to the delivery point. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. The NAICS Code and Size Standard are 32512 and 1,000, respectively. The DPAS Rating for this procurement is DO-C9. The provisions and clauses in the IFB and model contract are those in effect through FAC 97-27. All qualified responsible sources may submit a bid, which shall be considered by the agency. The anticipated release date of the IFB is on or about November 9, 2001 with an anticipated offer due date of on or about December 11, 2001. Contract start date is anticipated for January 1, 2002. An ombudsman has been appointed -- See NASA Specific Note "B". The solicitation and any documents related to this procurement will be available over the Internet. These documents will be in Microsoft Office 97 format and will reside on a World Wide Web (WWW) server, which may be accessed using a WWW browser application.
