Description

The Fleet and Industrial Supply Center, Norfolk Detachment, Washington, DC intends to negotiate and award a Sole-Source Firm Fixed Price contract to MailCode Inc. of Lafayette, IN for a MailCode Olympus Multiline Optical Character Letter/Flat Barcode Sorter. This piece of MailCode equipment is compatible with the existing letter/flat barcode sorter and is approved by the U.S. Postal Service to barcode commingled different size and weight flat mail items for automated postage discount savings. The contract will consist of a base year and two one year option periods. The FAR clauses 52-217-9 "Option to Extend Services" (AUG 1989), 52-217-8 "Option to Extend Services" (AUG 1989) and 52-232-18 "Availability of Funds (APR 1984) will be included. A Justification and Approval for Other Than Full and Open Competition has been prepared. SEE Note 22. The Federal Supply Code (FSC) for this requirement is 7490. The North American Industry Classification Code (NAICS) is 333313. A solicitation does not exist for this requirement.
