Description

The Coastal Systems Station (CSS), Dahlgren Division, NSWC, Panama City, Florida intends to solicit Aeronca, Inc., 1712 Germantown Road, Middletown, OH 45042-1716 on a sole source basis for parts to be used by the government for repair of LCAC Propeller Duct Assemblies. Fabrication of these machined parts requires the use of government owned special tooling that currently resides at Aeronca, Inc. Tooling was developed by Aeronca, Inc., under a competitively awarded subcontract from Textron Marine. No other manufacturer has supplied these parts since this original contract. It is estimated that the cost of relocating this tooling would exceed 50% of the estimated cost of the parts to be acquired. Thus, Aeronca, Inc., is the only source that can supply the required parts. Delivery as completed will be required. Required date for completion of delivery of all parts is not later than 31 May 2002. Delivery will be to the Coastal Systems Station, 6703 W. Highway 98, Panama City, FL 32407-7001.
