Description

Forest Service is soliciting aerial ignition and fire suppression helicopter services. Contractor will need to provide type III helicopters, pilots, mechanics, and fuel trucks to conduct aerial ignition using Premo Mark III (ping pong ball di spenser) machines, provide observation/recon platforms and supply water drops for the control of wildfires and in support of prescribed fires. Work will be performed on the National Forest of North Carolina in Woodlawn, North Carolina and on the P ike National Forest in Monument, Colorado. Work is anticipated to begin on or around February 15, 2002. The solicitation p ackage will be released to the public on or around November 27, 2001.
